Bryanna Cheong - June 2008
Taekwondo has been part of my life since February 2006. I started Taekwondo at the age of 10. I am now the age of 12. I started Taekwondo because my dad said that he did Taekwondo 20 years ago and because I wanted to do a unique sport.
As I graded to yellow belt, I thought grading was a big step towards being a better Taekwondo player. Then when I graded to blue belt I thought it would take a long time more to become a black belt until I became a red belt. Training through red belt has made me proud to finally reach the final stage of colour belt grading. I know that there is still a lot of training and grading ahead but for me, this is a great milestone and achievement. I have wanted to be a black belt since I was a yellow belt, it was my goal. I thought that being a black belt would be one of the best achievements of my life.
As I watched previous red belts grade to black I have been more eager to reach a stage where I am now. Taekwondo has helped me through the 2 years that I have been doing Taekwondo by keeping me fit and helping me keep calm. I really enjoy Taekwondo and hope to keep going throughout my life.
