2005 3rd Asian Junior Championships Kazakhstan
Eleni Zafiropoulos, Christina No and Taner Hikmet faced fierce competition at the 3rd Asian Junior Championships in Kazakhstan.
Christina No won the "Bronze" medal in the Female Black 14-17, 42-44 kg Fly weight division. Eleni Zafiropoulos competed against Uzbekistan. Although she was winning her competition, she lost in the final 35 seconds by 1 point.
Taner Hikmet fought against the Thailand Asian Junior Champion. The scores were close (4-2 Australia), and in the second round, Taner's arm was broken, disabling him from finishing off his fight.
Grandmaster No was extremely pleased with the achievement of these 3 Australian Junior Team representatives at this International competition.
Whilst accompanying his 3 junior students who represented Australia in Kazakhstan, Grandmaster No was nominated and elected "Instructor Of The Year" by the Kazakhstan Taekwondo Federation. He proudly accepted this prestigious award at the 3rd Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships the on the 21 August 2005, Almaty, Kazakhstan.
