2007 4th Asian Junior Championships Jordan

Congratulations to Adrian Chee on winning Australia's First Silver Medal.

Taner Hikmet and Adrian Chee from our club represented Australia at the 2007 4th Junior Asian Championships held in Jordan from August 20th to 26th.

Adrian Chee won Australia's First Silver Medal at these championships showing that he is a force to be reckoned with on the world stage.

Adrian fought his way to the semi finals with a convincing 2-0 win over Bahrain and a 4-1 win over Kuwait .

In the semi final Adrian met the reining Junior World Champion from Thailand and defeated him 2-1.

Unfortunately, Adrian went into the gold medal final against Korea carrying an injury (sustained in the semi final) that severely restricted his ability to fight. Adrian lost this fight 0-7 to take out the silver medal in the Black Belt under 45kg division. We are extremely proud of Adrian's achievements.

Taner Hikmet competed in the Black Belt under 59 kg division and drew Thailand in his first fight. In a hard fought, close battle Taner just went down to Thailand 5-7. This was a tough draw for Taner given that Thailand have been winning all the medals at the Junior Benchmark Events recently

Our warmest congratulations go to both Adrian and Taner, in being part of The 2007 Australian Junior Taekwondo Team contesting at the 2007 4th Junior Asian Championships held in Jordan, and on their outstanding achievement.
