2008 Australian University Games
Eleni Zafiropoulos wins a Gold Medal at the 2008 Australian University Games and was awarded the "Australian Green & Gold" Medal
The 2008 Australian Taekwondo University Games were hosted in Melbourne and held on Monday 29th September 2008 at Victoria University - Footscray Park Campus Ballarat Road, Footscray.
This is the 15th year the Australian University Games have been held and they provide our future champions, many of whom are of Olympic standard, with the opportunity to experience a world class multi sport event. Thousands of students from over 40 universities Australia wide contested in the 28 sports across Melbourne’s finest sporting venues.
Eleni Zafiropoulos contested and won a Gold Medal in the Female Black Belt Heavyweight division where she defeated her opponent 7-0 in the First round. Eleni was also awarded an Australian 2008 University Green and Gold Medal in recognition of her outstanding performance on the day.

National Championships 2008
From Thursday September 4th to Saturday September 6th the JNT Tiger Team competed in Sydney at the 2008 Australian Open and National Championships. Again our poomsae team represented the club with distinction, with every team member winning a medal. A large number of competitors entered the sparring competition this year making it a truly National / International tournament. Joon No’s Taekwondo had outstanding results yet again with 81% of our competitors winning medals.
