March 2009
On Sunday March 1st we hosted our third Joon No’s Taekwondo Open Championships, using the LaJust Electronic Chest Guards, at the Veneto Club in Bulleen. This time around we also introduced a poomsae competition using the One-On-One International Competition format. Whilst the poomsae competition is still in its infancy, the sparring competition is growing and developing into a premier event on the taekwondo calendar. As the use of the LaJust electronic chest guards at International tournaments increases, more & more clubs are beginning to realize the importance of their students gaining experience with the electronic scoring system. With each tournament the competitors are improving their kicking techniques and scoring points more freely. This time around we had 11 Victorian based clubs and 1 NSW based club represented at our competition. Overall the competition ran very smoothly and thanks to the poomsae judges, referees and the LaJust Specialist Team for their hard work throughout the day. Also congratulations to all the competitors and medal winners for a great tournament.
