As a child, Master No
grew up with Martial Arts, especially Taekwondo and always felt that he
was born to be a Martial Artist. Taekwondo has been, and continue to be
an important and major part of his life.
in 1972, Master No
followed his brother¡¯s footsteps and migrated to Australia where he
started teaching at his brother¡¯s club, who had moved to Australia
earlier in 1963.
In 1981, Master No
opened his own club, Joon No¡¯s Taekwondo at Danendong. Since then, he
has expanded his business and now has a number of clubs located
throughout Victoria. He is currently an 8th Dan Black Belt (Kukkiwon).
Joon No¡¯s Taekwondo prides itself as a small scale club where Master No
personally coaches all students where possible, enabling him to
identify and develop students according to their age and ability, as
well as maintaining traditional Taekwondo etiquette. Despite its size,
Joon No¡¯s Taekwondo¡¯s achievements have been excellent compared to
other larger clubs.
Master No's
unique training techniques have created an outstanding and consistent
record, producing Taekwondo State, National and International
Champions.
Over
the years, there have been many World Taekwondo Champions from his
club. Taekwondo became an Olympic Sport at the Sydney 2000 Olympic
Games. Two of his students became famous by winning the only two medals
the Australian Team won in Taekwondo. Lauren Burns won the Gold Olympic
Medal, and Daniel Trenton won the Silver Olympic Medal in their
respective weight divisions.
For the past thirty years, Master No has successfully promoted Taekwondo in Australia and continue to do so with passion and pride.
Master No is well known both in Australia and Korea and has been invited to be featured in a number of magazines.
In an article for a Korean Magazine (November 2007) in Melbourne titled ¡°Tiger in Melbourne¡±, Master No spoke about Joon No¡¯s Taekwondo and achievements in Melbourne.
