I started Taekwondo in 2008; I sat and watched everyone practice with excitement and after the class finished, I knew that split second I wanted to do this "MARTIAL ART". The next week, I joined in with the class and I loved it like I love it today.
Over the past years I have done comps, got my white, yellow, blue and red belts and I am here tonight trying to get my "BLACK BELT".
Taekwondo literally means "Way of the Hand and Feet" with emphasis on a good mental attitude, character development and the improvement of self-confidence. It also improves your fitness and flexibility.
The moral principles are non-violence, respect for others and using Taekwondo for self defence only.
Each belt colour symbolises something different :
• White symbolises the beginning, the arising
• Yellow is the Sun, the new energy which rises
• Blue is the sky, striving to knowledge
• Red is danger but passion
• Black is the conclusion
One more thing, I would like to say thank you to all the trainers including Master No, Brian, Joyce and Sam - thank you for all your help!
