Hello, my name is Luke and this will be my sixth year of doing Taekwondo and now I am 10 and a half years old.
Taekwondo is Korean martial art and Taekwondo actually means way of hand and feet. The start of Taekwondo can be traced back to 2000 years ago which amazes me. Taekwondo has developed into a practiced sport and is now an Olympic sport. Most people start Taekwondo because they want to know how to defend themselves in a fight or to stand up to bullies. Taekwondo helps you get fit and it takes some strength and patience to get each belt and stripe.
When I was 5, I started Taekwondo and I didn't really like it that much and I really didn't pay attention but as I got older and much better at the Taekwondo art, I paid a lot more attention and it turned out I really love it.
Taekwondo has helped me to be able to defend myself in a fight, it has also built up my self-confidence so if I get bullied again at school, I can stand up to the bully. When I broke my back, I wanted to do Taekwondo a lot but I only could do a few things because it would damage my back even more. Once my back got better I restarted Taekwondo and now I am stronger that ever and I hope that I will get my Black Belt.
Taekwondo has taught me there are no limits to what you can do when I focus on what I am doing.
I would like to thank Darryl, Master No, my mother and my sister for helping me along the way and my dad for getting me into Taekwondo.
